Rationale: The RCSD Board of Trustees will hear both the successes as well as the challenges Child Nutrition Services is currently encountering due to the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Staff will share with the School Board the formula behind the healthy and nutritious meals served in RCSD and all public schools nationwide, how every child is able to receive free meals at schools this school year and into the future for California children, and how the department leadership continues to serve students despite supply chain disruptions and a staff shortage. The presentation to the School Board is a study session, which is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. before the regularly scheduled School Board meeting. Financial Impact: None at this moment.
